Indications:
Tizanidine is prescribed to treat the spasms, cramping, and tightness of muscles caused by such conditions as multiple sclerosis, spastic diplegia, back pain, injuries to the spine or central nervous system. Tizanidine can also be prescribed for migraine headaches, as a sleep aid, and as an anticonvulsant.
How to take:
Take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take the pill with a full glass of water. Tizanidine is a short-acting medication, its effects will be most noticeable between 1 and 6 hours after you take the tablet. You may take up to three doses in one day if needed, allowing 6 to 8 hours to pass between doses. Do not take more than three doses (36 mg) in a 24-hour period. Higher doses of Tizanidine can damage your liver.
Precautions:
Before using Tizanidine, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any medicine, or if you have liver disease, kidney disease, high or low blood pressure. .
Side effects:
Common side effects include drowsiness or dizziness, feeling anxious or nervous, numbness or tingling, stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting etc.
